Patients´ Guide
Nutrition and Cafeteria
While you are in the hospital, your food will be prepared and supervised by staff dietitians to ensure the optimum quality of your meals.
Patients with a normal diet (no food restrictions) according to doctors’ orders can select a menu depending on the options presented.
Patients with special diets will be treated according to the instructions of the treating physician.
It is important to follow the doctors’ recommendations strictly, as these are part of your treatment.
If there is an order NPO (nothing by mouth) from your doctor, you should not drink or eat.
This is of paramount importance before surgery or certain tests.
Your family and friends should be aware of the importance of this temporary restriction.
If you have any questions or if you need an additional menu for your companion, contact the floor nurse.
It is important to remind your guests that it is NOT permitted to bring food to patients or eat in the room.
